While curbside recycling services accept a wide range of popular household items, even if they can theoretically be recycled, there are many things that you cannot put in the bin. Unless expressly approved by the curbside recycling service of your county, the following items should never be tossed in your curbside recycling cart or bin. Plastic Wraps and Packs
Recyclable plastic bags and some plastic wraps are to go in your curbside bin! In the US, there are a small handful of areas that can use curbside recycling to recycle bags and plastic wraps. Rope Like Things
If you can get it in a knot and it's durable and stringy, then don't recycle it. These are called "tanglers" in the recycling industry and are looked at with a certain kind of disdain. Dangerous Materials

If these things are empty, and the packaging is all you have left, then throw the box in the garbage. If you still have some residual product inside the packaging, such as if it's half empty, then check to see if you have a way for your group to recycle hazardous household waste.
Lithium Batteries
Batteries are not recyclable in the curbside by junk removal service providers; they will be landfilled if you attempt to recycle them this way, but they will also potentially put others at risk. For recycling plants, the corrosive nature of their ingredients makes batteries a dangerous commodity. Rechargeable or lithium-ion batteries are of particular concern, in some cases causing very dangerous fires, holding them out of your recycling bin and your garbage bin, where fire threats are often present.
Electronics
In your curbside landfill, electronics will not be recycled, also known as "e-Waste". While small electronics could fit in your curbside bin, such as microwaves & toaster ovens, heaters, and even stereo systems, your curbside recycling service will certainly not accept them.
Appliances
The majority of appliances are manufactured from steel, aluminum and other recyclable metals, including dishwashers, stoves, water heaters and washing machines, lawnmowers. In your curbside bin, appliances cannot be recycled. Equipment that is left for the recycling and garbage at the curb will either be left behind or the waste disposal company will transport you to a landfill.
Food-Recyclables
Before sticking them in your curbside recycling bin, recyclable items need to be well-rinsed. In fact the entire bin can be tainted by just one food-soiled product, resulting in the entire load of recyclables being thrown out with the garbage and ending up in a landfill. The most popular food-soiled product that is improperly disposed of in curbside recycling bins is pizza boxes. In some counties, pizza boxes are recyclable but forbidden in others, so before attempting to recycle them, it's necessary to consult with your local service.
Food Garbage
Food cannot be recycled, it's compostable. Your curbside recycling bin does not permit compost and other organic waste.
The Diapers
Ah, Yuck! Don't toss your curbside recycling bin with dirty diapers! They're not recyclable, curbside or otherwise and the garbage should be thrown away.
Textiles & Clothes
There are some recyclable clothes and textiles, but they can't be thrown in the garbage. If your clothes are still in good shape, by selling, donating or recycling them, there are a variety of ways you may be able to keep them out of the landfill.
Plastic Bulky Products
Things like, plastic patio,playground sets and plastic buckets include bulky plastic objects. Though these plastics are recyclable, curbside recycling services don't always embrace them.
